Cancer and heart blockage demands immediate treatment; fly to India on this date

If you are one residing in Fiji and have been lately diagnosed with cancer or heart blockage, you should consider flying to India immediately. Such conditions are usually life threatening and demand immediate attention and treatment.

When can I fly?

There are a very limited options at the moment. You may have to discuss with a local travel agent to figure out the option best suited to you.

One option that you can look at is Aug 19 Fiji Airways special flight to Hong Kong (FJ 1391) with a New Delhi Air India connecting flight on Aug 20 (AI 1323) from there. Total traveling time may span to 31 hours, including 15 hours layover in Hong Kong.

Is it safe to travel to India for treatment at this time?

From Covid-19 perspective, it is not very safe to travel to any parts of the world - be it India or any other country, at the moment. The problem is how long we should wait for? No one knows how much more time it is going to take before everything return to normal. Or, if this is the new normal?

If your doctor has told you that the condition is critical and it demands immediate surgical intervention, you should not think twice (delaying it will do no good). Do note that when it comes to medical treatment - both possible risks and expected benefits must be evaluated side-by-side to arrive at a better decision. Here, both Covid risk and delayed treatment risk must be analysed together for a wise call.

As far as India is concerned, it may be good to know that the seven day average cases have gone down considerably (especially in Delhi).

Hospitals are taking additional protections during this pandemic time. Everything is being cleaned continually, disinfected with chemicals. Any individual who may have COVID-19 is isolated from other patients. Those patients go into the section of the hospital which is away — quite a bit away — from where the standard stuff is going on. Patients who have COVID, or suspected COVID, are not even close to where the heart surgery patients are by a long shot.

What if I contract the disease somehow?

It may all go on its own or get fixed with a little medicinal intervention in a few days. Data suggests hospitalisation is required only in nearly 5% cases. Of those only 0.5% need ventilator support.

Will I have to be quarantined on arrival in New Delhi?

No. You can head straight to the hospital / hotel for the treatment if you are coming with a negative RT-PCR covid test report.

What if there is a lockdown and I get stuck there in India?

There is almost a zero likelihood that India will go into another lockdown anytime soon.

Are there any Fijians in India currently taking treatment?

Yes, there are.

How Medivisor Health can help?

Should you choose to travel with us, we can help you with everything - from your ticket to travel to stay to treatment. Also, we will be there locally present with you in India to guide and assist you at every step of your India treatment journey, making it a safe and a successful one.

How will Medivisor Health ensure I do not contract the disease?

Recently at least fifty overseas patients have come, taken the treatment through us and returned without contracting the disease.

Besides choosing non-Covid hospitals for them, what we did was we provided them Covid safety kit, dedicated transport and our well sanitised guest house. Traveling to hospital and outside was restricted to minimum.

All the necessary items (grocery, medicines) were delivered at doorsteps following adequate safety protocols. Blood samples were collected from home and reviews were done online. Also, physiotherapy, injections, dressings and other nursing services were organised at the guest house itself. Patients were taken to the hospitals mostly for surgeries only.

The approach has proved effective for all the patients (including for those in India presently) so far but should there anything more you would like to be done, we will be happy to do it for you.

How much is the air fare?

It is around 1500-2000 USD per pax per side.

What will be the total cost of treatment?

Treatment cost depends on multiple factors. Let us know the treatment solutions you need or the problem you are facing and we will share with you the tentative cost.

Is there anyone I can contact locally for guidance and assistance?
